Every year without fail, our Muslim neighbours next door, will send us home-cooked food for breakfast on the day of Hari Raya Puasa.
It's a very good breakfast. Makchik is indeed a great cook!
To foster good relations between neighbours, we will leave our main door closed today as there'll be many visitors popping by our neighbour's house. All because of Pee Pee. Her excessive barkings at our neighbours and unfamiliar people has invited many complaints.
Anyway, my whole stomach was filled with ice kachang today. 阿佬 suddenly had a crazy idea to go around the island, hunting for the best ice kachang. I whipped out my makansutra book and suggested these 3 places that's famous for ice kachang.

As you can see, Annie's topping of the crushed peanuts, red beans and cream corn was very generous. Her ice also came out very fine like snow, so it's absolutely divine to eat Annie's ice kachang on a scorching day! My only complaint is, how come there's no atap chee?
Pui Pui Heng's one was also generous with toppings of peanuts and agar agar at the bottom. But I didn't like their red beans as they're not the soft types.
The one at Chinatown Food Centre was more traditional, with toppings of brown sugar syrup. The ingredients of red beans (very nice and soft), cream corn, atap chee and black herbal jelly were all hidden at the bottom.
Since we're at Chinatown, we popped by "Wuerstelstand", the sausage kiosk, again.

Simply love his sausages, especially the Cheese Knackers!

My malay neighbours are really good cooks and every year i look forward to their tasty chilli chicken and nasi briani...
It is the only time of the year we can taste their cooking, after a whole year of only smelling the aroma from their kitchen...
