Just reading the blog title, you will know I am writing about Maple Story again.
After 1 and a half months of mapling, I have a few grouses I like to share with fellow Maplers here.
Players immediately asking you to "CC pls" (change channel) when you appear (like 1,2 seconds only) in the map they're playing, irritates me the most. Do these people think they own the whole map or something? I find this sort of behaviour very boorish. I don't think anyone can finish walking and killing all the monsters in a map, unless the area is very small and spawning is super slow. Any sensible players don't need you to tell them to CC if they find it's pointless to squeeze together with you and hinder their training. They'll automatically CC one. Get it?
Usually when I am training alone and someone comes along (or vice versa), I'll try to make it a point to ask if they want to split the map. I prefer this way as this will help spawn the monsters faster, which means more things to kill, and more EXP earned.
When I am in a crowded area (like fire boars maps) and CC doesn't help, I'll find a place to park and stick to that area to hunt so as not to disturb / KS (kill steal) the rest. But then some idiots will do stupid things, like defaming you because you never CC as they tell you to, and then purposely KS you.
Just the other day, someone tried to sell something worthless to my husband, like a few million mesos or something. When he refused to buy, that fella defamed him. What's wrong with these people? I am so amused.
Oh well, I am already in my 30s. Arguing with such people (who are mostly kids and young working adults anyway) is pointless, and will make me look like a juvenile. But such lack of common courtesy and consideration again reflects how our society is progressing, even though it's only an online game!
I love playing Maple Story. I just wish fellow players will be a little more considerate and friendly towards others to make the game more enjoyable.

Oh.. hehe.. me bootes too

Same thinking. I get very irritated when players ask me to CC. I dun even bother to reply them. What's wrong with them? they don't own the map. And i got defamed once. I think 90% of those players are kids or small teens. They are just too naive and immature. There are just some people that I really cannot understand why they behave certain ways.

these behaviours in maple actually reflects how our singaporean kids are like... possessive, selfish, lacking social grace. like street hooligans. a GM once told me that this is something unique to singapore, and other countries' maple players are much friendlier. i hope that these kids will change when they become grown-ups...

I ignore it when ppl ask me to CC too. I just made it a point not to KS them.
Oh, and when I get deflame.. I deflame them back. Sometimes, I deflame someone 1st, and siam out of the game immediately to avoid them. Wahahaahaha!!

This trend is not confined to Maple story only, I've heard complains of similar behaviour in other online games too... I hope these are only the minority.

With regards to your 2Cents on Change Channel. I have to agree with you its really tiresome and irritating to find our own players asking ppl to CC... -_-"
Technically, none of us own the game, the more so if those characters don't buy Acash to support the game, keep asking ppl to CC. Therefore we have no right at all be it Paying or Non Paying Players to request ppl to CC. So we should advocate the policy of sharing map always. Even with higher lever character of all creed, this actually benefit both parties. As the respawn rate increases and the drops are better. Hiaz, hopefully this climate will change soon...
So Jia Yo maplers!!!!

I share the same sentiment and will automatically cc myself. Actually I dont like to be alone in a map as the spawn is slow and have to walk and walk. The other day, shared a map with 3 other chars and each automatically covered 1 corner. Superby, I ko fire boars non-stop and lvl up like in 3.5hrs!
