It was a memorable holiday to Sydney, despite the wet weathers.
Managed to do some sight seeing at the Blue Mountains, Bondi Beach, Watson's Bay, Southern Highlands, AMP Tower cum OZ Trek, Sydney Fish Markets, Luna Theme Park, Taronga Zoo. Due to the heavy rains, we had to give Hunter Valley a miss. Didn't want to waste a day of travelling and not being able to enjoy the beautiful town.
We weren't able to visit the Wombeyan Caves at Southern Highlands because it was too dangerous to carry on driving in the rain at the rocky, winding roads in the mountains. We were so close and yet so far - just another 15km to reach before we decided to give up after a 3-hour drive from the city.
Had spent a lot of time shopping at Bondi Junction, Birkenhead Point, Paddington/Paddy's/Rocks Markets, and was blown away by the beautiful views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour and the Opera House.
Also filled up our hungry stomachs with Krispy Creme Donuts, sumptous meals at the famous Chinese restaurant - Golden Century, the famous pork knuckles at Lowenbrau, and my favourite - Breakfast at Bills. Their scrambled eggs and pancakes are the best in the world!
But it's certainly not cheap to holiday in Sydney. Everything is so expensive. Even a can of drink cost $3. I had to think twice before purchasing anything. The shops also close very early. It can be boring at night. But the people there are so friendly and helpful.
But the most amazing thing is, my husband and me did not quarrel during the entire trip. It's quite an achievement! Hahaha!

Check out the number of kids who attended Baby Jayden's first magical birthday.
I really felt like fainting that day.
It's always occasions like these which will make me feel like an outcast.
Looking at the people around me, most have became parents, while I am still busy grinding away in front of a computer.
Come gatherings and events, they're always yakking away about their kids and their super hectic childcare timetable while I am more interested to know where the good makan places are and how to spend an enjoyable weekend with my hubby.
And then we have to put up with nosey relatives who are still curious if "we're doing it correctly."
Whenever I see my husband playing happily with the children, I wonder if I should continue to be selfish and stay child-free. I can see that he like kids.
No job security. No financial security. No housing security. And then there's this someone in the house........
We will suffer, the child will suffer, everyone suffer......
Or are these just my excuses?
Sighsy, my head so pain just thinking about it.

It feels great being a tourist in your own country. But............
An admission ticket to the Night Safari costs $32.
Riding the Wacky Duck costs $33.
A cable car ride is $12.
A cup of coffee at the Jewel Box costs $6.
Watching the Song of the Sea musical at Sentosa is $13.
It's certainly not cheap to holiday in Singapore!

Every year without fail, my husband will bring me somewhere to watch fireworks during the National Day Parade.
This year, we were watching the amazing displays from his new office on the 20th storey.
Yeah! No more squeezing with people on the roadsides. No more traffic jams. No more sweating and pushing around. We even had a sumptous, korean-style dinner (prepared by his manager) in the office while waiting for the fireworks.
These lousy pictures will be the swan-song from my super-antique,4-megapixel digital camera, Fujifilm finepix F440, which only has ISO400 and no image stablisation or anti-shake features. Had enough of blurry pictures already.
I have replaced it with yet another finepix J10, 8-megapixel digital camera (This is my 4th finepix. Yeah I am a fan of Fujifilm). And it cost me less than SGD$200. Oh my gosh! I didn't know digital cameras are so cheap nowadays.

We wanted to complete the remaining journey on the Southern Ridges over the weekend, but sad to say, we were unable to do so because I spent too much time taking photographs at HortPark, and then my butter legs started to give me cramps after having dinner.
Started off at Alexandra Arch (5pm) again, we explored the beautiful HortPark, a gardening hub at Hyderabad Road. The walk itself was about 1.5km, but I spent more than an hour at the park because the flowers were too pretty to resist. There's a posh restaurant serving Thai cuisine inside the gardening centre but there's hardly any customers (despite the park having tons of visitors that evening).
After finishing our super long stroll at HortPark, we set off to conquer Kent Ridge Park. We got lost halfway and ended up at Reflections @ Bukit Chandu after finishing the Canopy Walk. No choice, got to walk the long winding roads downhill and we were along Pasir Panjang Road where there's no dense rainforest or walkways lined with beautiful plants, only plenty of dust and big lorries whizzing past.
By then, it was already 7.30pm. I was tired and hungry, so the both of us continued to walk from Pasir Panjang Road all the way to Alexandra Village where we had our dinner at Funny Lasagna, Blk 127 Bukit Merah Lane. From there, we walked back to the Alexandra Arch, and then continued our journey at Forest Walk and Telok Blangah Hill Park before heading home at 9pm.
After the night's walk for 4 hours, I must say I am impressed with my husband's endurance and patience!
Here is a simple walk-through guide for those who wanted to conquer the 10km Southern Ridges in 1 day!
Marang Trail (0.8km @ HarbourFront MRT) ---> Faber Trail (1km @ Mount Faber Park) ---> Henderson Waves (0.3km) ---> Hilltop Walk (1km @ Telok Blangah Park) ---> Forest Walk (1.3km @ Telok Blangah Hill) ---> Alexandra Arch (0.08km @ Alexandra Road) ---> Floral Walk & HortPark (1.5km @ Hyberabad Road) ---> Canopy Walk (0.3km) ---> Reflections at Bukit Chandu ---> Kent Ridge Park ---> Clementi Woods ---> West Coast Park.
We will perservere ~~~

Finally we decided to get our lazy butts out of the house and started exercising (if you consider walking is a form of exercise)!
Decided to try out the Southern Ridges.
We started at Alexandra Arch, which is about 1km away from our house. The bridge is shaped like a leaf and will be brightly dazzled with different colour of lightings at night. From there, we walked through the forests of Telok Blangah Hill and then walked through Telok Blangah Park which lead to the Henderson Waves - the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore currently.
Wanted to continue walking from Henderson Waves to Mount Faber Park, but I was too tired after walking around 2km for 45 minutes. Ended up replenishing our lost energy at our favourite congee stall (Fatty Congee) at Telok Blangah Crescent Food Centre.

Yesterday marked our 6 years together in marriage.
My husband planned an array of activities to celebrate this special day together.
We went to the food festival at Singapore Expo. It's so crowded! Sampled many different foods until my stomach almost went burst.
Then we proceeded to the Singapore Flyer, a giant observation wheel to enjoy the paranomic views of Singapore.
After a tiring day, we relaxed our feet at Kenko Foot Reflexology & Fish Spa.
It was a fun experience. Those little "doctor fishes" nibbled away furiously the moment we dipped our feet into the waters. This treatment is to promote blood circulation, ease skin conditions, lighten scars, relieve stress and smoothen skin.
Well, I did feel that my feet is smooth after the session. But maybe that's just psychological because it's $28 for a 30-minute session. Not cheap!
A day after, and both of us are slacking at home. Next year will be our crucial year - the 7th year itch! Hope nothing bad will happen. Hahaha.....

Weeeeee, just got home from a short vacation - Cameron Highlands & Genting Highlands.
Lost quite a fair bit of $$ at the casino, but the trip's still enjoyable. Nothing bad happened to our dear Sui Sui *phew*
It's my 2nd visit to Cameron Highlands. Still remember vividly the memories of us riding up the long, winding roads to Cameron and how our buttocks ached after the trip. Those were the days.....
Cameron Highlands is still as beautiful, with the lush beauty of the farms and plantations.
For me, I enjoy plucking our own strawberries at the local farms, for about RM30 per kg. Shopping at the night markets is also a must-do at Cameron. Visit the "Rose Centre" too. The beautiful flowers will definitely take your breath away....

Great minds think alike. We actually bought each other a keychain for 2008 Valentine's Day.
My chinese horoscope is the dragon, and he said I am a flying dragon, so he bought me a "Dragonfly" keychain. ZzzzZZzzz....
My dear is an angel in my heart, so I bought him an "Angel Love" from VoodooDolls.
There's no romantic candlelight dinners, no 999 red roses, no sweet chocolates or candies, but we do have is, plenty of love for each other. Let's hope this will continue for many years to come....Hee hee...

嗨,亲爱的又老了一岁了!
Instead of celebrating his birthday with a big bang, the both of us ended up running errands like visiting my grandma, going to the bank to change new dollar notes (Ang Pow $$ for Chinese New Year lor), and doing some casual reading @ Kinokuniya Bookstore. I didn't even bother to buy him a birthday pressie. Made a mental note to myself that I die die shall not nag at him, at least for the next one week. That would be his best birthday present (priceless somemore!). Besides that, I bought 2 containers of our favourite "golf ball pineapple tarts" from Le Cafe. Should be enough oleidi la, 老夫老妻 liao....
I also treat him to a good meal @ Ministry of Food (Bugis Junction). We visited the branch @ Marina Square some time last year, and thought the food was quite good (though a bit pricey). Didn't know that they opened a new branch at Bugis Junction, so we thought we popped by for some food testing.
We ordered a Sukiyaki Beef set meal, which included coffee/tea (comes in a complimentary coupon which you can redeem on the day itself), dessert (to top up extra $3) and a bowl of white rice. I upgraded the white rice to hot stone unagi rice for an extra $5 because it looked so good on the menu. Luckily the hot stone rice did not disappoint. The food presentation of tri-colour bento set ($8.50) was so refreshing. Upon closer look, it's actually rice with minced beef. A simple dish, but nicely done. My darling loved it, though he preferred the hot stone unagi rice. I wished they could have more servings of the beef slices (about 8 slices only, for the price of $20. ZZzzZZzz..). The dessert was Hokkaido icecream served with red beans and fried sweet potatoes. Very nice too.

Throughout my 11 years with my work organisation, I have the opportunity to attend many team-building, management and other similar courses. But I must say that this teamwork quotient course by POP (Psychology of Potential) was really an eye-opener.
It's been a few days since I've returned back to work, and I am still suffering from the aftermaths of attending this course! It left me physically and mentally drained even though the course was only for 2 days! I lost my voice and sense of hearing temporarily because of the never-ending screamings. The cuts and bruises on my body are still visible even until now.
I am not going to the details of what actually happened during the course as the contents were supposed to be confidential. I can only say that, a lot of physical and mental activities were played that really tested on the participants' stamina, strength, endurance and willpower. I could feel my bones breaking at the end of the first day, which was about 1am already by the time I returned to my hotel room. What I didn't know was, that's only the start of all the horrid activities that came later on the next day.
All the suffocated body hugs, cryings, shoutings, screamings, kneeling, crawling, pulling, pushing, beatings, confessions on your darkest secrets and bad habits, and the feeling of being crushed onto the ground continously can really turn a sane person hysterical. It was very humiliating. I even watched a lady wail non-stop and hallucinated my team leader to be his real son!
"Was this a team-building course or some unorthodox religious workshop I have just attended?", I asked myself. It really appeared that there's some elements of profound spirituality in its course contents. Their website is talking about gaining Enlightenment and Nirvana. The trainers were also over-zealous in their attempts to attract more people joining their workshops, 把爱传给全人类...
Think I am one of the few who didn't shed any tear during that 2 days. My team leader even asked me if I am human because I appeared so "cool" and "emotion-less" while others were crying buckets!
Thanks to the tough training I had since childhood eh? I might not have tons of life experience to share, but at least I can tell you I have survived many years of "punishments" received from all kinds of people. My father use belts to whip me and broke all my teeth, and I didn't even cry. He did other terrible things to me, and my mum didn't even help or at least comfort me. My ex-boyfriends did terrible things to me. Even now, I am living with a terrible person (you all know who hor? Haha!). I wonder how I survived those days. Hmmm.....
Maybe too many terrible things happened in my life, and somehow I am immune to terrible things. Self denial in progress? The irony is - I always cry whenever I watch sad korean dramas. Anyway happiness in life is a slow process that develops from day to day, and it always come to you when you least expect it .
Counting my blessings.... ^_^

Anyeong Haseyo!
Finally back in Singapore after a 6-hour flight from Incheon International Airport, accompanied with terrible continuous turbulence throughout the journey. I still feel like I am floating in air right now. *duhs*
I must say I enjoy my stay in Seoul very much. Love the weather, love the people, love the food! The girls there are so pretty, and they do dress very well. I would love to buy their clothes, but it's winter season right now, and I don't think I will have the chance to wear them in Singapore. Their cosmestic counters are always bustling with activities. Korean women must have spent a bomb on skincare and makeup. Things are rather expensive in Seoul. Even drinking a cup of coffee will cost about SGD$10. But their online gaming centres (which the locals call PC Bunk) are cheap, about $1 to $1.50 an hour.
During that 5 days, our tour guide, who can speak Mandarin very well, brought us to many places of attractions, which included:
- Filming location of the popular korean drama, Jewel in the Palace
- Korean President's residence (Presidential Blue House)
- Lotte World (an Indoor Amusement Park)
- National Folklore Museum
- Namdaemun, Dongdaemun, Myeongdong & Itaewon shopping markets
We even have the chance to attend a beauty workshop, where we can learn how to take care of our skin and put on make up. The products used are from Moogi and the Face Shop. Sad to say, my face broke out with pimples the next day. Sob sob....
Shall write less and let the pictures do the talking. Be patient ya!
Hmmm, so where's my next destination? Planning to go Tokyo next year if possible! Hopefully this December, I can get a FAT bonus!
