Recently, there has been many unpleasant incidents going on with my favourite online game. The lagging issues weren't solved for months already, and now came the hacking incidents.
Many maplers were hacked, with their money and equipments all gone.
Whenever I go online, there will always be someone I know who got hacked. It seems that the hackers has access to our Maple database or whatever it is, and they can easily login to our accounts (just by knowing our in-game-nick) without our knowledge and take away all our precious items.
Yesterday there was mass hacking in the guild I am in. Our great guild master told us to quit the guild temporarily as a precaution. I even deleted away all my buddies to protect their identities.
Everyday I login with fear, wondering when is my turn to see my characters naked. Sighsy.....
If it's fated to be so, I will take this opportunity to quit for good, and spend more time with my dear. He has been complaining a lot lately.
We still do the usual couple stuffs like going out, makansutra-ing, exercising, blah, blah, blah, but he still think I spend more time online than with him.
The frequent bickerings came in after he quitted online gaming. Instead of spending his time in front of the computer all day long like he used to (which I always complain), now his pair of eyes is now focused on me, while my eyes continue to focus on the computer screen.
Why not quit now, some might ask? Well, I can only shrug my shoulders.
There's just something in Maple Story that draws me into it so much. The many online friends I've made. The many people I have helped. The satisfaction of organising a successful Zakum or Horntail run. The joy of hunting an Onyx apple when doing the Amoria party quest. And so many other things.
Here's some stuffs I did during my free time. Amateur-ish photoshop skills. Bleah!

Recently, in the name of fun, a maple guildmate made a public proposal to marry my beginner through our guild BBS.
Suddenly I felt like I was being transported back to my teenage days, when I received similar mushy love letters from secret admirers *blush*
想当年.......
Madam Kucinta sings, "I wish that I could turn back the clock..........". Time and tide really waits for no man. Sighsy.
阿佬, where is the hot, steamy love letter that you promised to write me?

Bootes' first fire/poison archmage to get her horntail pendant on 30 April 2008!
Quite an achievement, considering archmages are relatively unwanted in horntail parties. My dearie's bishop already got his necklace long time ago *bleah*
Now I am making plans to give my little Sattva the Beginner the valuable necklace too. Will she be the first Beginner in MapleSEA to get it?

Nothing much to update lately, so I thought I post some Maple screenshots I took while doing the guild party quest and fighting some bosses.
Hee hee, I'm in a semi-retirement mode already. Been slacking and talking rubbish a lot. Hardly have the motivation to train. Without 2x exp, I gain like 1% an hour, which is extremely tortuous, while my kuku mage can leech 0.5%. Wanted to train at Mongs, but there is no place for me to "hang" kuku. Many others are training at lightning speed after Mongs are released, while I am still getting stuck at Grims. Sad lor....

Notice my blog entries are always posted whenever Maple Story is having a patch. Haha. Yepss, this patch will last till late afternoon, and there will always be lags and delays. I doubt tonight I will log in so that I can continue chasing korean dramas. Currently on Sweet 18 now. Recently completed Sassy Girl Chun Hsang, I'm Sorry I Love You and Memories of Bali. It's quite a feat, isn't it? Considering I have to juggle my full-time job, household chores, maple training, social activities & serving my dear husband. 24 hours a day not enough leh......
Last weekend was my day out to meet some fellow Maplers and to check out the new Marche @ Vivo City. The new outlet is much smaller compared to Suntec's & Heeren, but the food's still so good. Their Rosti's definitely my favourite.
You know I always have this fear of meeting online people. Yeah, one can talk rot and bullshyt in front of a computer screen all the time, but when it comes to meeting face-to-face, oh gosh, what do you talk about? Especially when I am a terribly shy introvert who sucks at making small talk.
But I guess my worries are kinda unfounded. I'd met nice Maplers so far, like Jayugi, Renai, Sibeisian and Miho. Met AlphaJude, AlphaAleydis & AlphaXena on Saturday, and they're so friendly! Exchanged tips and pointers of how to build our Maple characters and funny stories about our dogs. Yeps, Jude is a proud owner of 2 Jack Russells. Hope there's a chance for our dear Pee Pee to meet up with her Bella and Francesca (Did I get their names right?).
Also went to this online gaming centre called I.R.C @ Peninsular to check out who's who. Heard from them that a lot of "famous" Maplers go there to play. OooOO, that's how Cypher02, xNaru, Toohot4u, Tissueboi, BoBoLi and a few others look like!
Well guys, it's really great meeting up with you!Hope to meet up again real soon.

今天是情人节. 祝有情人终成眷属, 没情人的早日遇到白马王子/公主.....
And also congratulations to my dear priest for finally reaching 140. It's been a long and tedious journey. When I look at MapleSEA's website rankings, the top player in Delphinus server is already level 15x in less than 3 months! ZZzzZZ, how did the player manage that? Chiong 24-hour on 2x exp? Did he not have a proper life? No work? No school? No social life? I mean...my butt already hurts so much when I play 2-3 hours continously without rest. Really take my hat off them.
Anyway....加油, 加油!

Yupzz! My little precious Sattva has gotten her Zakum Helmet! My heartfelt thanks to my Maple buddies, xxMih0xx & o0Jayugi0o, the Alpha Family like Jude, Xena & Aleydis, and the lovely couple, Norad & S3xywarrior. Thank you guys for doing Bootes proud, for making it possible to have a jobless Beginner with a Zakum Helmet. You guys rox! ^_^

Yepsss, Kukukucinta turns 140 already. Am I proud of myself that I had wasted so much time on an online game that is played mostly by children? Hee hee....
One thing for sure though. I am amused by my own persistence, patience and never-give-up spirit to continue training away even though levelling is a real pain these days.
Have gotten my Zakum helmet last night. Yippee! Words cannot express my utmost gratitude to xxMih0xx, XSibeisianX, 5mall, Peywah, altwtips, o0Jayugi0o for your help and support given to me and kqkqsinta. It's really great meeting you guys!
So now it's left with 阿佬's kqkqsinta before the both of us can retire from Maple in glory. Yesterday he tried zakuming on our new laptop bought on Sunday, but got DC-ed at 2nd body. The laptop isn't too bad. Apart from the screen being frozen occasionally, fighting Zakum was quite a breeze. Only can pray that the screen will not freeze during those critical moments when Mr Zakum reduces our HP and MP to 1! 阿佬 is going to try again tonight, so wish him all the best!

Maple Story has been extremely chaotic these few days. Severe lag and no maps to train. All because of this:
I admit I am one of those crazy ones who took half a day off work to take advantage of that "2x experience" event for 12 hours yesterday! Free 2x exp leh, who don't want! But it seemed no difference as my % still move so slow.... T_T
Yesterday was madness everywhere. Luckily I managed to "chop" one lethal squid map for party training (early bird catch the fattest worm ma!). But I met many ugly maplers who were so desperate for maps. One offered me 5 million for my map. A few others came in and tried to snatch the map by hitting every squid that I had poisoned (so that they could leech the exp too when I finished the kill). I was defamed 6 times because I refused to party them. Come on, kqkqsinta is a 罚站的牧师 (i.e leeching me). If you want to be in my party, you must not mind that he is stationary there. And how to have 3 poison mages in such a small map. Use your brains lor! Anyway, MrOakTree who was in my party, was such a nice gentleman, who not only didn't mind my husband not being there. He also gave me a lot of equipment to sell because his inventory was full. 我赚到了. Haha.....
The maple equipments are dropping at a ridiculous rate too. I picked so many until my hands went numb. Nobody wants to buy them and I had to sell back to the shop. I pity those pure INT mages who bought the Maple Lama Staff for 20-30 million before this event, as the market price for the staff now is 250k only!
Oh yes, Happy birthday, Maplesea! And thanks for everything!

This announcement came a little late, but hey, my dear Kukukucinta has finally completed her 3rd job advancement ler!
She has came a long way. Maple brings her much joy, and also many heartaches. I wish to take this opportunity to thank my husband, who has showered me with much love and patience! I know sometimes I am too engrossed with the game and tend to neglect you nowadays. Please forgive me.
Now that I have completed my 3rd job, what else is there for me to look forward to? Hmmm, I also don't know. Maybe continue training until my husband, kqkqsinta, completed his too!
Yesterday was our first guild outing, together with some of my family members. A BBQ session @ West Coast Park. Thanks to everyone who has turned up. Hope your stomachs were satisfied! For those who didn't, hope to see you on our next outing!

Congratulations, Kukukucinta is a level 100 mage oleidi!
After so many days of hard work, I have finally reached the golden number, 100! Another 20 more levels before I will complete my 3rd job advancement. I must, I must, I must add more oil. Gambate!
But my tyres are punctured oleidi. Initially I feel like I am a ferrari - cheonging all the way to reach my 2nd job advancement. After completing that, I am slowing down to a Subaru WRX. Levelling is slower and slower each day.
After my 3rd job advancement, training becomes lagi slow like a tortoise and my speed downgraded to a Nissan March. But after the Aqua Dungeon comes out, I feel alive again! All thanks to the lethal squid (purple sotong). Though I did not allocate any skill points to Poison Mist, my Magic Composition can also do the job pwetty well. Can poison the sotongs one by one, while I slowly wait for the poison to wear off before finishing them off. Must be a good swimmer though, to avoid touching the sotongs. One touch is instant death for mages (1400++hp) if we never switch on our Magic Guard. I also become a bankrupt because everyday I spend a few million buying potions. The mobs in Aqua Dungeon really do very high damages!
Anyway, to celebrate me reaching that golden number, my dearie gave me a treat at the Ikea Restaurant @ Alexandra.
Been wanting to visit this outlet since ages ago. Read and heard many rave reviews on their chicken wings and swedish meatballs.
I must say I enjoy their food very much. The chicken wings really live up to their name. They're oh-so-juicy, and not oily. The chicken meat's so tender. I love their swedish meatballs too! Never know that meatballs dipped with raspberry sauce tasted so good! The salmon's not too bad, but my husband didn't like it very much.
Overall verdict? Ikea Restaurant is a place worth patronising for their cheap and good food. The only complaint I have is the crowd. Must wait for very long to get a seat!
Yippee, the long weekend is here. Going out sea fishing tomorrow. The progress package fund is credited to my bank account oleidi. Yeah! An extra $400 to spend. No, No *wave fingers*. Must save up that money to pay my income tax ah! ZZzzZZzz....

Omigosh, it's been two weeks since I last popped in here. My blog is clearly collecting cyber-spiderwebs already. Hee hee...
Been too tired, and too lazy to blog. My team has changed two members recently, and both of them..... sighsy. Donch know what to say *shake head*
So I have been working very hard recently, climbing up and down ladders to check the roof tops and gutters in Geylang area. Almost BBQed already with the weather so hot in the mornings these days. My legs are giving me cramps due to the constant climbings. Hope I can lose some weight with these extra "exercise". Hee hee...
Been training my maple character very hard @ Forest of Gollem too. But it's difficult to find an empty lane, let alone an empty map @ Forest of Gollem. Fellow maplers might be familiar with this super crowded map.
Everyday after work, I have to settle down quickly (shower, eat dinner, etc, etc) and find a lane to train @ Gollem. But with the 2x EXP card system, a lot of high level players from all the classes are also training here because of the good spawn rates, good EXP, and good drops like Tobi, 60% scroll for Gloves ATT, Ancient Scroll and Black Bull's Deed. So it's quite a chore. Cannot afford to AFK to go toilet even, as other players will snatch your lane by the time you come back. So I always have to wait for my dear to come back and chop the lane before I can rest my tired fingers.
I have the opportunity to party with Bootes's top Priest, zZcheeZz, these few days. With her max Holy Symbol, I also can manage to level quite fast without the 2x EXP (3-4 days a level). Can't wait for 阿佬 to max his HS too. Then next time, no need to rely on other people oleidi, and we can train somewhere else instead of squeezing together with so many people.
Aqua Dungeon is out today. Hopefully all the high level players will flock there, leaving other maps empty for us to train. Hee hee...

It wasn't a too-good fishing trip for me over the weekend. I got seasick in less than half a day and was lying in bed for hours. Haiz. The guys caught many fishes though!

Anyway, 阿佬终于苦竞甘来了 (Is that how you write it?)! He is a Priest already!
So which skill did he allocate his first skill point to? Shining Ray, of course!
So envy. I am still shooting fire arrows as I allocated my points to a passive skill first - element amplification. Now my arrows have twice the damage, but need to consume twice the MP. When fellow fire wizards see how I can one hit K.O grupins and jr yetis, they go "Woah". Hee hee....

Oh gosh! Maple Story is undergoing maintenance until 10pm. I can't wait to download the new patch, with the launch of the new map - Aqua Road, and the 2x EXP card system. I am considering whether to buy or not. Levelling nowadays is super slow for me (about 3-4% an hour). If I can kill a mob and gain twice the experience, I definitely will level up faster. Wonder how much will it cost though.
Some minor changes to my character. I got kukukucinta a new haircut. She no longer look like a bangali because I changed her skin colour from dark to fair. Also formed a guild with 阿佬 called "Miuchi". According to a website, it means "friends" in Japanese, but a guild member told me that there wasn't such a Japanese word. She asked many of her Jap friends and they gave her the blank look. Duh! Never mind lah, just take it that I invented a new Japanese word lor....
阿佬 poor thing. He expelled a fellow out of our guild because he talk nonsense during the guild chats. Damn boh liao lor. That 12-year-old fellow summoned all his kakis to defame my husband everyday. Haiz. 大人不记小人过! So now we restricted our guild recruitment strictly to family and friends only.
The other day, I was resting on a chair, doing nothing. My fame was also dropped thrice by strangers who walked past me. What's their reason? "I don't like pros." WTH. Singaporean kids are really ugly and petty gamers. What's the meaning with all these mass defamation? Fame isn't really that important anyway. You only need a little fame to do the quests and wear certain armour. Other than that, it serves no purpose at all. Having a lot of fame means you are popular and the nicest person on earth???? Fame can be bought easily at 7K each lor!
Nowadays we always go map parties to see Balrog. But I always die even before entering the Cursed Sanctuary. We have no problems handling Tauromacis already, it's the Taurospears that kept sending me to heaven! Sob sob.

Level 70 mage? So what ?!?! I still feel like a noob. Even level 50+ bandits, hunters and warriors can do much better than me. Can the GM do something about magicians' HP?? It's really too low, and switching on my magic guard means I have to drink pots like hell. Sianz....
Posted by kucinta on 15/03/2006 at 05:38 PM | Permalink | Comments (14)
Yeah! I am finally a MAGE!
Everything went pretty smoothly for my 3rd job advancement. The physical test (to defeat Grendel the Magician) wasn't too difficult. The exhausting part was those super irritating Tauromacis which came out from nowhere after a few minutes! I had 5 of them charging at me at the same time. Drank about 25 white potions (300HP), 27 Pure Waters (800MP), and 5 All-Cure potions (cos Grendel locked my skills) to survive the test.

The "mental" test was to answer some questions at the Holy Ground. Need to sacrifice a Dark Crystal (which cost about 1.5 million) on each attempt. I standby about 4 of them and thankfully, I succeeded on my first try!
Now I have to train to higher levels to test out my new skills. Sick and tired of shooting fire arrows already! Will I able to endure until level 120 for my 4th job advancement?

Did everyone has a great Valentine's day celebration 2 nights ago?
For me, it's just another ordinary day. No way am I going to carry a bunch of half-dead blooms walking down the streets along with 500000 other women, share my beach space with 500 other couples at East Coast Park, blowing candles in the wind, or sit down in a restaurant with 50 couples already chewing the same food created specially this day!
I am not eating sour grapes or what, but I rather stay at home, eating the cakes we bought for each other and my favourite cheng tng from Zion Road food centre.

I guess I am a too practical person. I told 阿佬 if he's going to buy me those overpriced roses, I rather he give me the money to spend instead.
Everyday is already Valentine's Day when I am with my husband, isn't it? No need to wait for a special day to celebrate love what.
Just for fun, we decided to spend SDG$10 (to buy the couple ring and wedding suit) and 100k mesos to get married in Maple Story on Valentine's Day!

Invited a few friends to witness our big day, and gosh, I felt a little cheated. How come banquet dinner got no food to eat at all!?!?!? Tsk tsk....

So now, we are officially a Maple couple. Everytime we walk close together, little heart shapes will appear on the screen. How sweet! Married in real life, married in reel life!

Yippee!! *Punch fists in the air*
After 2 months of sleep deprivation, I have achieved one of my 2006 new year resolutions. Though a level 60 wizard is not that great anyway, I still feel accomplished. Hmmm, why wasn't I that hardworking towards my studies? Tsk tsk....

But my character still feel so weak. Not enough mesos to buy better weapons like wusun ( avg 20 million) and hinomaru fan ( avg 35 million). Those sellers in free market really are daylight robbers! I think I am stuck with the stupid Cromi ( avg 1 million. Cheapskate weapon!) forever. Magicians are not that powerful compared to the other 3 classes, is it? Still cannot handle the high level mobs in Ossyria. Keep dying leh. I need more training!

Now my next target is to go for my 3rd job advancement @ level 70, and hopefully can fight bigger, more challenging mobs like Balrog!
Anyway the weekend was pretty satisfying! Plenty of lou hei sessions with friends and relatives. Shit, I have not weighed myself since last week.

After losing heavily in cards and mahjong, 财神 decided to be kinder to us and we had an unexpected windfall in 4D! Though the money's not a lot, I'm very grateful. At least it's enough to cover the payment for our Rawa trip this coming Thursday, and perhaps stock up on DVDs @ Holiday Plaza in JB. Yeah! Another holiday! I really know how to enjoy life.....

Just reading the blog title, you will know I am writing about Maple Story again.
After 1 and a half months of mapling, I have a few grouses I like to share with fellow Maplers here.
Players immediately asking you to "CC pls" (change channel) when you appear (like 1,2 seconds only) in the map they're playing, irritates me the most. Do these people think they own the whole map or something? I find this sort of behaviour very boorish. I don't think anyone can finish walking and killing all the monsters in a map, unless the area is very small and spawning is super slow. Any sensible players don't need you to tell them to CC if they find it's pointless to squeeze together with you and hinder their training. They'll automatically CC one. Get it?
Usually when I am training alone and someone comes along (or vice versa), I'll try to make it a point to ask if they want to split the map. I prefer this way as this will help spawn the monsters faster, which means more things to kill, and more EXP earned.
When I am in a crowded area (like fire boars maps) and CC doesn't help, I'll find a place to park and stick to that area to hunt so as not to disturb / KS (kill steal) the rest. But then some idiots will do stupid things, like defaming you because you never CC as they tell you to, and then purposely KS you.
Just the other day, someone tried to sell something worthless to my husband, like a few million mesos or something. When he refused to buy, that fella defamed him. What's wrong with these people? I am so amused.
Oh well, I am already in my 30s. Arguing with such people (who are mostly kids and young working adults anyway) is pointless, and will make me look like a juvenile. But such lack of common courtesy and consideration again reflects how our society is progressing, even though it's only an online game!
I love playing Maple Story. I just wish fellow players will be a little more considerate and friendly towards others to make the game more enjoyable.
