Bumming December 2010 - Day 9

Oh gosh, what am I doing back at the office again? I think the problem is because my workplace is too near to home, and that it is so convenient to pop in anytime I like.

Checked out the Adidas Sales at Wing Tai Building (105 Tampines Road). The bus journey itself from office was an hour. Taking bus rides used to be my hobby when I was still schooling, and it's still quite enjoyable, looking at the scenery from the bus. But there was this group of girl students who nearly make my head split with their rowdy chatter and horrendous laughter throughout the bus ride. Just plain inconsiderateness.

Did not manage to find any good bargains at the Adidas sale. Proceed to Ion for more Christmas shopping. Rewarded my tired legs with a new pair of slippers.

Bumming December 2010 - Day 8

Another cloudy day.  So I stayed at home to continue my search & destroy bug operation.

Went to Vivo City to get new ink + photo paper & items to DIY  my 2011 calender.

Bumming December 2010 - Day 7

Life became very mono during the 2nd week of my December vacation break. Other than the routine housekeeping, facebook-ing and jogging, what else is there to do daily? Most of my peers are busy working, and I have to hang on till the evening before my husband come home from work to entertain my boredom. Brought forward my Christmas shopping to this week instead of next week.

Found myself creeping back to the office again to clear some paper work before proceeding to Orchard Road for some Christmas shopping. But then the weather was so uncooperative and I got stuck in the office for half an afternoon.

 The malls in Orchard were pretty packed with people even though it's a Monday. Gave in to temptation and bought new swim wear again.

 Total shopping expenditure: $300 (swim wear + Sephora Xmas gifts + skincare)

Bumming December 2010 - Day 6

Another wasted day at the pool.

 Took a different jogging route again in the evening. 7.5km in total, from our house to Vivo City, then back to home. Wanted to run up the Mount Faber slopes, but my knees were giving me problems these days. Excessive jogging?

 My husband did not join me for this run. He told me to go ahead without him as he had to fix the toilet. But he's just so irritating because he went to jog without me after finishing his tasks. I was wondering where the hell  he disappeared after coming home to an empty room. Luckily the BBQ chicken wings he bought home after his run appeased my annoyance!

Bumming December 2010 - Day 5

Today was the day when I met up with some of my school friends from Guillemard Primary School. Quite amazing actually, considering that we did not keep in contact for the past 22 years! And guess what? Facebook is the one that brought us together again. 

 I guess none of our appearances had changed drastically over the years since we had no problems recognizing one another. It was a good catch-up session at Somerset 313's Marche. Over-ate again, since their crepes & rostis were quite addictive.

Drove in to Resorts World Sentosa to catch the show - Voyage De La Vie at Festive Grand. The show was similar to what I'd watched on Star Cruise Virgo's Rasputin, with acrobatic stunts, magic tricks, colorful costumes and musical performances. When compared to Rasputin, Voyage's show really pales in comparison. But since I got to watch Voyage for free, cannot complain la. Hehe.

Bumming December 2010 - Day 4

Major construction works done to my teeth in the morning. I like this dental clinic at Stirling Road because the dentist is a nice gentleman, and the fees are affordable.

Wanted to stay in the office to report on an outstanding appeal, but ended up attending a flesh-fly feedback in Bishan with 2 of my colleagues because I am so hardworking. On leave, and still attending to feedback. Haha! (Like real)

 After dilly-dallying for half an afternoon, the contractor managed to open up an access for our officers to crawl inside the supposedly inaccessible roof top to search for decomposed matter. Well, it's a fruitful trip for me as I'd learnt something new!

 In the evening, we had a vigorous Wii-party at HH's house with some colleagues. Really tempted to buy 1, but when I looked at my house, I doubt I had the space and luxury to truly enjoy the Wii games.

Bumming December 2010 - Day 3

Time to do some search & destroy operation in our bedroom again. Misshe said she spotted another bug lurking near our computer table. Sighsy. I guess once there's a previous bug infestation, it's hard to get rid of those annoying pests permanently. Especially when we had people coming in and out of our home so often.

 A new distance record for my jog today -7km. But I did not sweat much as the weather's so cooling. In fact, I was so exasperated that I actually weighed a little heavier after the run (>1kg). How come huh? Too much slurpee?

 My darling is also getting better at the sport. I hope he has the perseverance to maintain this healthy lifestyle. 

Bumming December 2010 - Day 2

Attended a lunch gathering to welcome a new leader to our section, before proceeding back to HQ for a short meeting with our boss. Looked like our job is not getting easier in the coming new year! But whatever it is, I am thankful I have a job to look forward to everyday (despite that more & more people will hate us!). 

When I got back office to check on my emails, everyone was like, "huh, why you come back to work when you're on leave? Don't spoil market leh!" Honestly, I rather be at the office, than staying at home, facing the endless naggings, and those domestic helpers who gave people headaches all the time.

 

Bumming December 2010 - Day 1

Spent half a day at the Safra Poolside. Pity there's not much sun today. The weather's so cooling until I felt asleep on the tanning bed. I so very hate December cos it's always cloudy during this month!

A tough jog in the evening with my husband. We decided to try out a new route at the Mount Faber Loop. He had some problems with the steep slopes, but I was so proud of him that he completed the 6km run together with me. He lost about 1kg of water. Haha!

The start of my long December vacation

Finally a long break away from work after slogging so hard (like real?) for the past 11 months. I think it's my first time being away from work for such a long period after so many years of service. Well, things are different ever since I am in-charge of a team and has more heavier job responsibilities. Gone are the days when I can suka suka call up my former supervisor to take a few days off work when I don't feel like it. Haha!

Gonna record how I am going to spend my next 3 weeks.  Probably I'll be rotting away at home or by the poolside most of the time. My husband has suggested me going away for a short holiday, since I'm getting a BIG, FAT bonus. But I guess I'll save the money to give to my family, to pay off the insurance bills and many other miscellaneous bills, and of course, Christmas pressies!
